At the end of each school year, at about this time, each grade watches a movie musical, and it usually takes a few weeks of class time. Since we seem to have some extra time on our hands these days, you could probably watch your class’s movie in a week—or in a day if your schedule allows for it! We are giving you the option of watching the full musical for your grade if your family has access to where it is streamed, OR you can watch a playlist of just the songs from that show. Links are below.
After you’ve watched, we’d love to know which song was your favorite. There are so many good ones to choose from! Comment on the blog post, your class’s Facebook post, or send Ms. A or Mrs. B your response in an email.
1st Grade: Mary Poppins – Stream the movie on Disney+ or watch the songs.
2nd Grade: Annie (1999) - Stream the movie on Disney+ or watch the songs.
3rd Grade: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – Stream the movie on Netflix or watch the songs.
4th Grade: The Music Man (2003) – Stream the full movie for free on YouTube (Note: Please watch with a parent. There are a couple of spots we would mute/skip if we were watching during music class.)
5th Grade: The Sound of Music – Stream the movie on Disney+ or watch the songs.
Later this week, enjoy a lesson from Ms. Arnold on Disney Theatre Magic, and watch for Mrs. Braunagel's posts of singalong playlists for some of the songs from the musicals above (Wednesday - Mary Poppins & Annie; Thursday - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang & The Music Man; Friday - The Sound of Music).
