As you've learned about Edvard Grieg and his famous piece, the Peer Gynt Suite, perhaps you're interested in the story of Peer Gynt. The story was written into a play by Henrik Ibsen, who asked Grieg to compose incidental music to go with it. Grieg agreed to the task, but struggled to do complete it because the story moved so slowly. He did manage to finish, and the music has been one of his most recognized works.
